Vinified in the modern winery of Quinta da Leda, the grapes, after total destemming and smooth crushing, were fermented in stainless steel tanks and granite presses. The maceration was adjusted for each variety and the temperature control and pumping were applied according to the characteristics of each one. This allowed the quality components of each variety to pass smoothly from the skin of the ripe grape to the wine. Between October and December, the wines were taken to Vila Nova de Gaia, where they matured for about a year in 225-liter oak barrels, 50% new and 50% used. The final blend of Quinta da Leda was made from a very careful selection, after numerous tasting sessions, which allowed us to choose the wines from the best barrels. The final blend underwent light filtration before bottling, but a deposit can develop over the years.
Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz
It presents a dark red color. Its aroma is intense and complex, dominating plum, cassis, resin, cedar and cloves and nutmeg. There are also aromas of violet and chocolate, always in perfect harmony with discreet wood, well integrated and of excellent quality. In the mouth it reveals great elegance, highlighting its volume, balanced acidity, excellent quality tannins and aromas of black fruits, spices and flowers. Very long and great harmony.
Store and serve advice:
The bottle must be kept horizontally in a dry and cool place. Quinta da Leda is an amazing wine whose qualities can be enhanced if opened some time before being served (ideally an hour), in addition to being decanted. Serve at 16ºC
Pairing with food:
Its elegant and complex profile makes it ideal with fine meats, game and intense cheeses. One suggestion is to serve it with duck magret with noodles, Chinese mushrooms and arugula.
