The wine looking for dialogues, illustrated by Luís Afonso.
A wine made for the pleasure of good food, which seeks harmony and balance for every day and not just for special moments. Without pretending to be the best wine in the world, it is a wine that you want to drink, fresh, young and appealing, a wine with the character of a Douro that enchants by its simplicity. In the Dialogue, wood is used in small quantities so that the wine can preserve all its youthfulness.
2018 was a fresh year until August, with the coolest July in the history of the sec. XXI. The maturation of the vine showed a delay of about 3 weeks compared to the year 2017. In the first days of August there was a sharp rise in temperature: August 4th was the hottest day of the 21st century (to date), having the maturation of the grapes continued slowly during the month of September. Due to the imposed water stress, the plants originated musts with little alcohol content and good phenolic maturation, with a lot of complexity and minerality.
After transport to Quinta de Nápoles, the grapes were carefully destemmed into a stainless steel vat where they fermented at a controlled temperature for about a week. Part of the batch is aged in French oak barrels while the rest is kept in stainless steel for about 6 months.
Beautiful and intense Ruby color.
The nose shows what 2018 was like - a fresh year with moderate maturation. The aromatic profile of the wine is elegant, with mineral notes in harmony with touches of balsamic, floral and fresh red fruit.
In the mouth it is light and fine, with smooth but persistent tannins. The good acidity of the set makes it easy to drink and enjoy.
