Cartuxa red is a blend of Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez planted in the oldest vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. When the grapes are considered to be perfectly ripe, they are carefully harvested and brought to the cellar to peel, crush and gently ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature. This is followed by a maceration period of 26 days, followed by maturation in new French barrels for 15 months. The wine is aged in bottle for 18 months before launch.
Trincadeira, Aragonêz, Alfrocheiro, Alicante Bouschet
Dark ruby color. Aroma of great elegant and fruity notes, spices (cinnamon and cloves) and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is concentrated and complex, with firm and velvety tannins. Very powerful, ending with great persistence.
