Taylor's Reserve Tawny The Mallet

A deep red brick core fading to reddish edge. A beautifully mature and complex nose, full of suggestive and subtle nuances. Plum, fig and sultana aromas blend with a soft marzipan and caramel fragrance. Cigar box tips, cedar wood and leather add an exotic dimension to the nose. The wine is seductively round and smooth, with unobtrusive and beautifully integrated tannins, adding an alluring dryness and grip. The wine is rich in rich fruitcake flavours, with some fresh plum character emerging in the long finish. An expertly blended, harmonious and balanced Tawny Port, with all the intensity and refinement derived from aging in tempered oak barrels.

Winemaking:
This bottle was inspired by the 'bladder' shaped wine bottles made in England between 1715 and 1740. This blend has been carefully assembled for this limited edition specially selected port from Taylor's extensive Tawny stocks, aged in tempered oak tubes. Its character is unique to this bottling, with its characteristic Taylor richness and its distinct grip on the finish.

Store and Serve Advice:
Serve at a temperature between 12 and 14 C.

Very fresh, it is the ideal aperitif to be served with dried fruit. Perfectly pairs with a wide variety of desserts featuring caramel, coffee, apricots and dried fruit.
