Winemaking:
Vintage Port and LBV present a selection of very good year-old Port Red wines. The fundamental difference between the two styles is in the way each matures. Vintage Port is kept in wood for only about twenty months before being transferred to the bottle where it will continue to age. The late bottle, as its name suggests, is bottled afterwards, remaining in wood for four to six years. During this relatively long period of aging in wood, an LBV matures and establishes itself: it is ready to drink after bottling, does not need to be decanted and can be served by the glass for several weeks after the cork has been removed. The LBV was developed as a high quality alternative, but more accessible and immediately drinkable to Vintage Port, to enjoy on everyday occasions. It was originally created in 1970 by Taylor's current president, Alistair Robertson. Although many other houses now offer this wonderful style of wine, Taylor's LBV, the original Vintage Bottled Vintage, remains the benchmark in the category; The first choice of the Porto drink specialist.

Grape varieties:
Old vineyards

Test results :
Intense ruby red color. The nose has rich aromas of black currant, strawberry and plum with delicate floral notes. In the mouth, the tannins are firm but well integrated and the intense fruit flavors persist in the long finish. It is a complex and multidimensional wine with Taylor's classic elegance, balance and delicacy.

Storage and service tips:
These Port wines are bottled when they are ready to drink and do not require further aging in the bottle.

Pairing:
Taylor's LBV is the perfect ending to any meal. It does not need to be decanted and should be served in a wine glass of generous proportions so that your rich fruity nose can be enjoyed to the fullest. Excellent with hearty cheeses, spec.
