Colheitas are single year Tawny Ports, aged in hulls for a minimum of seven years before being
bottled. The Colheita is delicious at the end of the meal to accompany desserts and nuts or as an aperitif
accompany, for example, "foie gras".
VINIFICATION
In the 2008/2009 wine year, total precipitation occurred below the annual average between 1930 and 1960. The month with the highest
precipitation was January.
On the other hand, the average temperatures observed were generally similar to those of the decades mentioned above.
However, the month of August was on average hotter at 2ºC when compared to the average. This fact becomes even more
important if we take into account that the first eleven days of the month were relatively fresh compared to the normal of the region.
The 2009 harvest was not easy, having been conditioned by the high temperatures experienced in August and September.
vintage, allowed us to obtain wines with great quality and diversity.
TEST RESULTS
A brick-red color with medium depth and a light orange border. The aroma, slightly smoked / vanilla,
coming from wine barrels, very old, which last for aromas of marmalade, raisins and dried apricots. Body
medium on the palate, with a smooth and prolonged finish.
