THE WINE
Origin: Grapes from 3 different old vines, all over 60 years old. The first site is located in the north of the Douro Superior region in a transition zone of shale / granite at an altitude of 500m with predominant exposure to the North. The other 2 locations are in a typical Douro area with schist soils, located in Cima Corgo, at an altitude of 300m with a predominant South / West exposure.
VINIFICATION
Reception with partial destemming (80%) and crushing, followed by cold maceration at 7 ° C for 2 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in mills with tanning at about 24 ° C. The must fermented for 12 days with controlled maceration in order to obtain an elegant and smooth wine, without too much extraction.
INTERNSHIP
14 months in stainless steel vats (95%) and used French oak barrels (5%)
TEST RESULTS
Aroma: Red fruits and fruits of the forest with fresh and elegant floral notes of violet and rock rose.
Flavor: Fruity, smooth and elegant, with excellent acidity and intense but silky tannins.
